Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has restated his administration’s dedication to creating a peaceful and investment-friendly environment, assuring potential investors of the state’s readiness to host sustainable business ventures.

The governor made the pledge on Thursday during a courtesy visit by a delegation from the European Union (EU) and Search for Common Ground to the Rayfield Government House in Jos. The visit aimed to explore partnerships in peacebuilding and sustainable development.

Speaking on behalf of the governor, Commissioner for Information and Communication, Joyce Ramnap, emphasized that Plateau is open to global partnerships that foster peace and inclusive growth. She noted that the state government is leveraging various peace mechanisms including the Plateau State Advisory Council on Interreligious Harmony, the Plateau Peacebuilding Agency, and Operation Rainbow to sustain peace across the state.

Ramnap also highlighted the administration’s commitment to revitalizing key sectors of the economy to attract investors and improve the standard of living.

The EU delegation, led by Gift Omoniwa, Acting Country Director of Search for Common Ground, and Ruben Alba, EU Team Lead, expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the EU-funded IRENEW project, which has promoted interfaith harmony and youth engagement across the 17 local government areas of Plateau.

Alba reaffirmed the EU’s interest in strengthening cooperation with Plateau State, particularly in agriculture, ICT, and infrastructure.

In a related development, the state government also welcomed a delegation from the United States, led by Ambassador Dr. Linda Kaleidoscope. The visit focused on identifying investment opportunities in agriculture, education, tourism, and women and children empowerment initiatives under the slogan “Dream Plateau, Change Plateau.”

Present during the engagements were key members of the Plateau State Executive Council, including Commissioners for Commerce and Industry, Education, Housing, Health, and Works.
