Rivers Electoral Commission to Unveil Timetable for 2025 LG Elections

The Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) is set to release the revised timetable and guidelines for the 2025 Local Government Elections.

In a notice signed by RSIEC Chairman, Dr. Michael Ekpali Odey, the commission has invited key stakeholders to a general meeting scheduled for Monday, July 28, 2025, at the RSIEC Headquarters in Port Harcourt. The meeting will commence at 2:00 p.m.

Expected participants include leaders of registered political parties, traditional rulers, security agencies, religious bodies, media representatives, professional associations, civil society organizations, NGOs, community-based groups, and members of the public.

The highlight of the gathering will be the official unveiling of the updated electoral timetable and procedural guidelines for the upcoming local government polls.
