The Abia State Government has begun the deployment of teachers recently recruited under its 2025 Teachers Recruitment Exercise, with a firm directive for all appointees to report to their assigned schools by September 1, 2025.

This announcement was contained in a press release issued by the Commissioner for Basic and Secondary Education, Elder Goodluck Ubochi, who confirmed that posting letters have been dispatched to successful candidates.

The Ministry explained that while it aimed to assign teachers to schools near their Local Government Areas (LGAs) of residence or origin, limitations in staffing needs and infrastructure in certain areas necessitated deployment to other parts of the state.

To address potential challenges, the Ministry has made support lines available via 0913444706 and 09135007067, alongside a dedicated complaints portal accessible on each applicant’s dashboard. Teachers seeking a change of posting are required to provide a clear explanation of their difficulties. However, the government emphasized that such requests do not guarantee reassignment, reiterating that all applicants were previously informed of possible deployment anywhere within the state, based on service needs.

The deployment exercise is part of the government’s broader strategy to strengthen the education sector by bridging staffing gaps, especially in underserved communities. It reflects a commitment to equitable education delivery and transparent public service.

The Ministry further urged all newly posted teachers to exhibit professionalism, dedication, and a readiness to contribute meaningfully to improving learning outcomes across Abia State.
