The South East Renewed Hope Agenda (SERHA), a prominent political support group in the South-East, has committed ₦200 million towards the re-election campaign of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections. The funds will cover the purchase of the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential nomination form and campaign logistics.

The announcement was made during the inauguration and empowerment event of SERHA’s Imo State chapter over the weekend. The gathering attracted political figures, community leaders, and supporters from across the South-East.

Hon. Belusochukwu Enwere, SERHA’s National Coordinator, delivered the keynote address, reiterating the group’s unwavering support for Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda. “As committed ambassadors of Renewed Hope, we are determined to drive President Tinubu’s re-election efforts. Today, we present a cheque of ₦200 million to support this mission,” Enwere declared.

He lauded President Tinubu’s administration for progress in infrastructure, education, and inclusive governance, citing federal projects that directly impact the South-East. Chief among these is the $3 billion Eastern Rail Line project, which Enwere described as the region’s most significant federal infrastructure investment to date. “This railway will transform trade, cut transport costs, and address decades of marginalisation,” he said.

Enwere also praised the establishment of the South East Development Commission (SEDC), noting its potential to drive regional growth, particularly in road development and erosion control.

He paid homage to notable South-East leaders, including the late Chief Sam Mbakwe and Chief Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu, and commended Imo State Governor Senator Hope Uzodinma for developmental strides under his 3R Agenda.

To intensify grassroots mobilisation, Enwere announced SERHA’s plan to tour all 95 local government areas and 2,344 wards in the South-East starting in August. “This is the South’s opportunity to complete our constitutional eight years. The South-East is fully committed to ensuring President Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” he affirmed.

The event also featured an empowerment programme, where motorcycles, mini buses, sewing machines, hairdressing kits, and cash gifts were distributed to residents to foster entrepreneurship and self-reliance.
