Lagos, Nigeria-Saglev Electromobility Company Limited has highlighted its achievements in green industrialisation, local manufacturing, and innovation within Nigeria’s automotive sector ahead of official visits from key government and development leaders.

In a statement released on Monday, the electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer announced that its assembly and manufacturing plant in Imota, Lagos, will welcome two high-profile guests this week, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Jumoke Oduwole, on July 30, and President of the African Development Bank (AfDB), Dr Akinwumi Adesina, on July 31.

The company described the upcoming visits as a strong endorsement of its growing impact on Nigeria’s clean energy ambitions and Africa’s broader electric mobility transformation.

“These visits reflect the increasing recognition of Saglev’s contribution to building climate-resilient transport infrastructure and fostering sustainable industrial growth in Nigeria,” the statement said.

Saglev’s facility is a major hub for the local production and assembly of electric vehicles, a strategic move the company says supports job creation, technology transfer, and import substitution in the emerging green mobility ecosystem.

The firm reaffirmed its commitment to collaborating with both the Federal Government and international development partners in advancing Africa’s energy transition goals.

“Our facility showcases what is possible when innovation, policy support, and regional development financing come together to solve big challenges like climate change, unemployment, and logistics efficiency,” the company said.

Saglev added that it remains steadfast in its mission to drive Nigeria’s transition to clean energy transportation, while enhancing local capacity across the entire EV production value chain.
