Enoch Ali Maku, a retired Director of Information and Protocol with the Nasarawa State Judiciary and current Senior Special Assistant to the Chief Judge, has been released after spending five days in captivity.

Maku was abducted last Wednesday in Agyaragu, a community on the outskirts of Lafia Local Government Area. A family member, who requested anonymity, confirmed his release, revealing that he was reunited with his family around 11:00 p.m. on Sunday. He has since undergone a brief medical examination to assess his condition and ensure he is in stable health.

Details regarding whether a ransom was paid remain undisclosed, as the family has chosen not to comment on that aspect.

The Nasarawa State Police Command had earlier confirmed the kidnapping, noting that four individuals were initially taken during the incident. Two victims were rescued shortly afterward following a confrontation between the kidnappers and police operatives.

Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ramhan Nansel, reaffirmed the command’s commitment to rescuing the remaining victims and bringing the culprits to justice.
“The command is working tirelessly to ensure the safe recovery of all abducted persons and to apprehend those behind the act,” Nansel stated.
