The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has confirmed that renowned Fuji musician, King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal, popularly known as K1 De Ultimate, was denied boarding at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, for violating aviation security regulations.

The incident occurred at the domestic terminal during boarding for ValueJet Flight VK 201 to Lagos. In a statement issued by FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs and Consumer Protection, Mrs. Obiageli Orah, the musician attempted to carry an unidentified liquid substance onboard, contrary to international aviation rules.

Aviation Security (AVSEC) officials and the flight captain reportedly warned K1 that the liquid later identified as alcohol violated the National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) and ICAO’s Annex 17, which prohibit carrying liquids over 100ml unless medically necessary and declared.

FAAN stated that the musician refused to comply and allegedly poured the alcohol on a ValueJet security officer. When the flight captain intervened, K1 reportedly resisted again.

After boarding was concluded, the captain ordered the aircraft doors closed. Despite being repeatedly asked to vacate the boarding area, the musician allegedly refused until AVSEC’s crime unit arrived and escorted him off the plane for questioning. He was later released.

FAAN emphasized that it will not tolerate any breach of aviation safety regulations, regardless of the status of the individuals involved. The agency reaffirmed its commitment to safety, professionalism, and regulatory compliance across all Nigerian airports.
