Onuaku, Abia State – August 7, 2025

In a show of appreciation and unity, the founder of UGO Abia Grassroots Movement and member representing Isuikwuato/Umunneochi Federal Constituency, Hon. Amobi Ogah, has commended members of the group for their unwavering support and dedication ahead of the 2025 Annual Convention.

The highly anticipated convention, which is set to take place at Onuaku Primary School by 10:00 AM, will gather thousands of members, stakeholders, and supporters under the banner of the movement’s motto: “Okwere, kwesie ike” meaning “If you believe, stand firm.”

Speaking in a statement released on Thursday morning, Hon. Ogah praised the resilience and grassroots commitment of members across the wards and communities of Abia State, noting that the UGO movement remains a powerful symbol of people-oriented politics.

“UGO is not just a political platform; it is a movement of conviction, unity, and hope,” Ogah stated. “I salute all our members, especially those who have continued to carry the vision with passion at the grassroots. Your commitment is the reason we have come this far.”

Founded by Hon. Ogah, UGO (United Grassroots Organisation) has grown into a formidable sociopolitical group promoting inclusive governance, youth participation, and rural development. The upcoming convention is expected to feature policy discussions, cultural displays, and keynote addresses.

Analysts have seen the event as a strategic gathering, with many praising Ogah’s ability to sustain strong grassroots engagement since assuming office.

Security and logistics arrangements are reportedly in place as preparations peak ahead of Saturday’s convention.
