MOSCOW, Russian President Vladimir Putin has agreed to hold a meeting with former U.S. President Donald Trump, the Kremlin confirmed on Thursday. While preparations for the summit are underway, no specific date or location has been disclosed.

According to Kremlin aide Yuri Ushakov, the much-anticipated meeting is expected to take place “in the coming days,” and logistical arrangements have already begun.

Ushakov also revealed that a proposal for a trilateral summit involving Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy had been floated by U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff. However, the Kremlin made it clear that the upcoming meeting would be a bilateral discussion solely between Putin and Trump.

“The venue for the meeting between the presidents of the Russian Federation and the United States has been agreed upon, and details will be shared at a later time,” Ushakov stated.

The announcement comes amid ongoing global interest in U.S.-Russia relations and heightened geopolitical tensions in Eastern Europe.
