The Greater Aba Development Authority (GADA) has accused the owner of Enyimba TV and Radio of unlawfully unsealing and continuing construction on a building previously marked as illegal within the station’s premises.

In a statement released by Chibuzo Amaechi, Head of Information/PRO of GADA, the agency said the structure was originally sealed on August 12, 2025, without any form of assault, harassment, or arrests. GADA emphasized that its actions were in line with a court directive ordering all parties to maintain the status quo, which it reportedly respected for three months by staying away from the disputed site.

However, GADA claimed it recently discovered that the property owner had reopened the sealed building and resumed construction without any known court order, prompting the agency to notify the police.

“This enforcement was peaceful, and no one was assaulted, harassed, or arrested. GADA wishes to clarify that this is not a witch-hunt against any individual or organisation,” the statement said.

In contrast, Enyimba FM and TV Limited, in a statement issued Tuesday, alleged that peace at its station was disrupted around 11 a.m. by unidentified men arriving in six buses. The management condemned the GADA-led operation, claiming it violated an Abia State High Court ruling (Suit No. A/137/2025) issued on July 29, 2025, which they say restrained such actions.
