Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has pledged to secure 2.5 million votes for President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general election. The governor made this declaration on Wednesday while campaigning in Esan Central for the upcoming by-election. He assured party supporters of his unwavering commitment to the success of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Okpebholo attributed Nigeria’s slow pace of development compared to countries like the United States to the absence of a leader like Tinubu in past administrations. He insisted that if Nigeria had two leaders with Tinubu’s vision and leadership style, the country would be on par with America in terms of progress.

Highlighting recent achievements of the Tinubu administration, Okpebholo pointed to the signing of tax reform bills as a major milestone. He said the reforms have brought stability to the economy, underscoring President Tinubu’s efforts to fix long-standing national challenges.

Since his swearing-in as governor in November last year, Okpebholo has consistently championed the APC’s agenda in Edo State. He reiterated his commitment to mobilizing massive support for the party and the president, expressing confidence that the 2.5 million vote target will be met in the 2027 elections.
