Tragedy struck Itsani village in Limpopo when three young children, aged between two and four, perished in a house fire on Friday.

Police spokesperson Colonel Malesela Ledwaba confirmed that firefighters discovered the children’s remains inside a one-roomed house after extinguishing the blaze. The victims were reportedly last seen playing near the house shortly before the fire broke out.

“It is still unclear how the children ended up inside the house. Experts will be called in to assist with investigations,” Ledwaba said, adding that police are also considering whether negligence charges may be brought against the parents or guardians.

The cause of the fire has not yet been established. Authorities have urged community members to remain vigilant and ensure proper supervision of minors to prevent similar tragedies.
