APC Pledges to Reclaim Mandate from PDP in 2027

The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has declared its determination to reclaim what it described as a stolen mandate from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2027 general elections.

In a statement issued on Saturday, the party’s Publicity Secretary, Mallam Yusuf Idris Gusau, accused the PDP-led government of failing to deliver on its campaign promises, particularly its pledge to end banditry within three months of assuming office.

“The PDP government is not sincere about ending banditry. Even the governor has admitted that the situation is deteriorating daily,” Gusau said, adding that insecurity across the state has worsened since the administration took over.

He assured supporters that the APC remains resolute in its bid to unseat Governor Dauda Lawal in 2027, stressing that the will of the people would prevail over the power of incumbency.

“All moves to keep the governor in office beyond 2027 must be resisted. We are confident the voters will pass their judgment,” he stated.

Gusau further criticised the government’s decision to engage with bandit leaders, arguing that such measures had failed to yield results and that the security situation had spiralled out of control.

He called on APC members to remain steadfast, describing the party as the only viable alternative capable of addressing the political, social, and economic challenges facing Zamfara State.
