Manchester United goalkeeper André Onana has agreed to join Turkish side Trabzonspor on a season-long loan.

The move comes just days before the closure of the Turkish transfer window on September 12, 2025, with all documents signed on the player’s side and final approval from Trabzonspor expected soon.

Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the deal, noting that the loan includes no buy option or loan fee. Onana is scheduled to travel for his medical next week after international duty with Cameroon.

The 29-year-old joined United from Inter Milan in 2023 for £43.8 million but has struggled to cement his place, especially after the club signed Senne Lammens on deadline day.

Currently second in the Turkish Super Lig, just two points behind Galatasaray, Trabzonspor are hoping Onana’s arrival will bolster their title push.

Onana, who featured in Cameroon’s 3-0 victory over Eswatini in a World Cup qualifier on Thursday, will be aiming to rediscover his best form in Turkey before deciding on his long-term future in 2026.
