TotalEnergies has lauded the leadership style of Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, describing it as transformational, people-focused, and worthy of emulation.
The commendation was given by Engr. Obi Imemba, Executive Director, Joint Venture Asset, TotalEnergies EP Nigeria Ltd, during a courtesy visit to Governor Otti after attending the burial of their late colleague, Engr. Chinwendu Ememanka.
Imemba stressed that the visit was not political but a recognition of an inspiring leadership style that gives hope.
“Your Excellency, everyone here today is not here simply because you are the Governor. We are here because we see something extraordinary in your leadership. Everything rises and falls on leadership, and what you represent gives us confidence that Abia State is on the right track,” he said.
He added that Otti’s approach has broken stereotypes that often create a gulf between the private and public sectors, noting that professionals now feel encouraged to collaborate with the government.
Governor Otti, in his response, thanked the delegation, stressing that leadership is the foundation of societal progress. He reiterated his administration’s commitment to accountability, inclusivity, and excellence, assuring TotalEnergies of a partnership-driven approach to governance.
The Governor also paid tribute to the late Engr. Ememanka, describing him as a man of excellence whose legacy must be preserved.
Earlier, Onwuka Oreh, General Manager, Government Relations at TotalEnergies, commended Otti’s strides, citing the reconstruction of the historic Omenuko Bridge as a symbol of responsive governance that has saved lives and improved infrastructure.
The visit ended with mutual assurances of future collaboration between the state government and TotalEnergies to further drive development in Abia.
