A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Eze Chukwuemeka Eze, has condemned Nigerians for their inaction, accusing them of allowing the “illegality” of the emergency rule and suspension of Rivers State’s democratic governance to stand.

In a statement from Port Harcourt, Eze characterized the conflict as an uneven battle between the Federal Government and a governor stripped of control over the state’s apparatus, particularly its security architecture.

His comments came just as Governor Siminalayi Fubara was reinstated on Wednesday after a six-month suspension by President Bola Tinubu.

Eze, a former National Publicity Secretary of the defunct nPDP, urged the returning governor to prioritize development and service to the people above all else. He stated that any agreement Fubara was “made to sign” must be secondary to his mandate of public service and accountability to Rivers people.
