Abia State Governor, Dr. Alex Otti, OFR, has congratulated Commodore Kelechi Ndukwe, an illustrious son of Abia, on his promotion to Commander of the U.S. Destroyer Squadron 60 and Commander, Task Force 65, based in Rota, Spain.

In a statement signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Governor Otti described Ndukwe’s elevation as a “well-deserved reward for hard work, excellence, and impeccable professionalism.”

“Commodore Ndukwe’s career trajectory of consistent and remarkable accomplishments speaks volumes about his skills, professionalism, and commitment to service. His promotion is not only a personal victory but also a testament to his uncompromising patriotism,” Otti stated.

The Governor further noted that Ndukwe’s achievement is particularly historic, as he is the first Nigerian to command a U.S. Navy warship. He expressed optimism that the feat would inspire young Nigerians, especially from Abia, to pursue excellence and dedication in their chosen careers.

On behalf of the government and people of Abia State, Governor Otti congratulated Commodore Ndukwe and prayed for his continued success as he breaks new grounds in his military career.
