ADC to Tinubu: Prepare to Leave in 2027, Nigerians Have Suffered Enough

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has declared that President Bola Tinubu will not remain in office beyond 2027, stating that his administration’s performance has made re-election untenable.

The opposition party’s statement, issued by National Publicity Secretary Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, was a sharp rebuttal to the Presidency’s recent comment that Tinubu would not stay beyond 2031—a remark the ADC called “presumptuous” and evidence that the government is “out of touch with reality.”

“Given the spate of banditry and killings… the widespread hunger and suffering, the punitive taxes, the flagrant abuse of power… the President should be preparing to leave in 2027,” Abdullahi stated.

The ADC cited a litany of failures, including a collapsing economy, tripled food prices, rampant insecurity, and a “comatose” power sector. The party accused the President of dividing the nation and pushing citizens deeper into poverty.

The statement concluded with a stark warning: “Nigeria is not Lagos… Come 2027, it won’t be APC versus ADC, it will be APC versus the Nigerian people.”
