Former Deputy Governorship Candidate of the Young Progressives Party (YPP) in the 2023 elections, Dr. Chima Desmond Anyaso, has joined the Abia State Government in celebrating the elevation of the state’s Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice, Barr. Ikechukwu Uwanna, to the rank of Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN).
Speaking at a high-profile reception in Abuja, Anyaso described Uwanna as “a thoroughbred gentleman” whose capacity, competence, and commitment to justice earned him the prestigious honour.
He noted that the SAN title was both well-deserved and timely, adding that Uwanna’s dedication to the rule of law has brought “a refreshing shift” to Abia’s legal landscape. “His elevation is not just a personal achievement; it is a win for justice and for the people,” he stated.
Anyaso also commended the calibre of dignitaries at the Abuja celebration—including top legal minds, judges, and senior advocates—saying their presence underscored the respect Uwanna commands within and beyond the profession.
The event, which was attended by the Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Prince Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), and other eminent personalities, highlighted the significance of Uwanna’s milestone for Abia State.
