Tinubu Appoints New Heads for Key Federal Agencies

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the appointment of three new heads of federal agencies, with their tenures taking effect in September 2025.

Bello Bawa Bwari from Niger State was named Director-General of the National Biosafety Management Agency for an initial term of four years, effective September 18, in line with Section 5 of the 2015 Act establishing the agency.

In Zamfara State, Hon. Barr. Aminu Junaidu was appointed Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Investment and Security Tribunal for a five-year tenure, also effective September 18.

Similarly, Olayiwola Nurudeen Awakan will serve as Director-General of the Nigerian Tourism Development Corporation for a four-year term beginning September 2.

According to a statement issued by Segun Imohiosen, Director of Information and Public Relations, Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the appointments reflect President Tinubu’s resolve to strengthen key sectors and institutions across the country.

The President urged the appointees to bring their expertise to bear in driving reforms and advancing the mandates of their respective agencies for national development.
