The Abia State Police Command has commenced full enforcement of tinted glass permits in line with Federal laws and directives, following a series of public sensitization campaigns and extensions to allow vehicle owners sufficient time to obtain the required permits.
In a statement issued on Thursday, October 2, 2025, by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Maureen C. Chinaka, on behalf of the Commissioner of Police, CP Danladi Isa, the Command confirmed that the exercise officially began today.
Members of the public who are yet to secure their permits are advised to:
1. Register via the Nigeria Police Specialized Services Automation Project (POSSAP) through its official website.
2. Visit the State Intelligence Department (SID) of the Command for biometric capturing.
CP Isa instructed officers carrying out the exercise to remain professional, respect citizens’ rights, and refrain from any form of extortion. He further disclosed that a monitoring team has been deployed to ensure compliance with ethical standards during the operation.
The Command also urged residents to report any cases of misconduct or unprofessional behavior to the Complaint Response Unit via 09031593727 or 09035401645.
