The lawmaker representing Lagos Mainland Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon. Olanrewaju Oshun, has called on Nigerians to exercise patience with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, stressing that the government is laying the groundwork for sustainable development.

Speaking at a town hall meeting in Yaba, Lagos, Oshun said President Tinubu has recorded notable progress in the economy, security, infrastructure, and other key sectors within the past two years.

“When you are building a foundation, people don’t see it until the building is erected,” Oshun noted. “We need to be patient. It cannot happen overnight. A few months ago, people complained about the cost of rice and beans, but today the prices have reduced. It is a gradual process.”

The lawmaker cautioned Nigerians against propaganda and undue criticism, warning that some individuals are determined to undermine the administration by focusing only on its shortcomings.

“We must promote Nigeria. We don’t have any other country,” he said. “Let’s support the President, governors, and council chairmen. Nigerians must be objective in their criticism.”

Highlighting his own contributions, Oshun listed interventions in education, healthcare, infrastructure, youth empowerment, and social amenities. He added that his mission is to ensure inclusive governance for every voice in Lagos Mainland through responsive legislation and community-driven initiatives.

In attendance at the event, the traditional ruler of Igbobi-Sabe, Oba Owolabi Adeshina Adeniyi, praised Oshun’s record of service. “Hon. Oshun knows what he is doing. Even during his time in the Lagos State House of Assembly, he was always performing. If others can emulate him, things will be easier,” the monarch said.

Similarly, former Chairman of Yaba Local Council Development Area, Kayode Adejare Omiyale, lauded Oshun for consistently delivering dividends of democracy to his constituents.
