The Ondo State Police Command has arrested a man identified as Oyewole Adamolekun for allegedly having unlawful carnal knowledge of his biological daughter.

According to the command’s spokesperson, Olayinka Ayanlade, the incident occurred at Taye Village, Lafa 2, Ajue Axis in the Odigbo Local Government Area of the state.

Ayanlade explained that police operatives acted swiftly after receiving a report about the incident, leading to the suspect’s arrest. The victim was taken to a medical facility for examination, where results confirmed that she was pregnant.

He said the suspect has since confessed to the crime during interrogation and remains in police custody, while the case has been transferred to the Command’s Gender Desk Unit for further investigation and prosecution.

Reacting to the development, the Commissioner of Police, CP Adebowale Lawal, condemned the act, describing it as both criminal and morally unacceptable. He assured that the suspect would face the full weight of the law and reiterated the command’s commitment to protecting minors and vulnerable persons in the state.
