Atiku’s Aide Challenges Omokri to Clarify Tinubu’s Secondary School Certificate

Paul Ibe, the spokesperson to former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, has challenged former presidential aide Reno Omokri to explain how President Bola Ahmed Tinubu obtained his secondary school certificate.

Ibe issued the challenge in a post on X (formerly Twitter), joining international activist Mike Arnold in criticising Omokri. Arnold had earlier accused Omokri of spreading misinformation, describing him as a “pathological liar” who would be remembered as “the Joseph Goebbels of the Nigerian Christian Genocide.”

In his response, Ibe took aim at Omokri’s integrity, describing him as “a master of treachery” whose loyalty “is as steady as quicksand.”

“Reno, you need help whether clinical or spiritual, that’s for you to decide,” Ibe wrote. “But what’s beyond dispute is that you are a Judas Iscariot, an unrepentant opportunist whose reputation precedes him like a foul stench.”

He further mocked Omokri’s recent alignment with President Tinubu, accusing him of hypocrisy.
“But since you are so obsessed with credibility, here’s a challenge,” Ibe added. “Explain how Government College, Lagos, could have issued a certificate to ‘Bola A. Tinubu’ in 1970, two years before the school was founded. Or better still, support calls for the FBI to release Tinubu’s drug records from the United States.”

The controversy over President Tinubu’s academic qualifications has persisted for years. Questions about his certificates submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), and his alleged involvement in a 1993 U.S. narcotics and money laundering case, resurfaced during the 2023 elections.

Interestingly, Omokri, who once joined critics questioning Tinubu’s credentials, has since become one of the President’s vocal supporters following his electoral victory.
