Ned Nwoko: I Pity Men With Only One Wife

Senator Ned Nwoko has said he feels “sorry for men who have only one wife,” arguing that polygamy offers men greater stability and balance in marriage.

The Delta North senator made the remark during an appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Sunday, defending his belief that managing multiple wives is a more “natural and ideal” marital structure.

> “Imagine standing on one leg, it’s difficult. But when you stand on two, three, or four, you’re more balanced. That’s how I see marriage. So I feel sorry for men with only one wife,” Nwoko said.

When asked about biblical objections to polygamy, Nwoko maintained that the Old Testament supports it.

> “I’m a man of faith, but that’s not today’s topic,” he added.

The lawmaker further stated that he has no regrets about his polygamous lifestyle.

> “No, I don’t regret anything. I’d make the same choices again. Every man should marry who he wants,” he said.

Responding to allegations of domestic violence in his home, Nwoko dismissed them as false.

> “I’m not a violent person. I respect and love my wives and children,” he said.

The interview aired shortly after Nwoko’s wife, Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, shared photos of her new mansion on Instagram, captioning:

> “In my house, I am a Queen! I needed a roof over my head, so I got this for me and my family.”

Her post came days after a viral video, dated October 18, showed her tearfully alleging abuse and saying,

> “In Ned Nwoko’s house, I am nothing, but in my own house, I am a Queen. I can’t stand the violence anymore.”

Nwoko and Regina Daniels, who married in 2019, share two children. Their marriage, often in the public eye due to their age difference and the senator’s polygamous background, has faced renewed scrutiny following the actress’s recent posts and Nwoko’s latest remarks.

Neither Nwoko nor Daniels has released an official statement addressing the state of their marriage.
