Everlasting Fountain Welfare Initiative Plans 500-Bed Shelter For The Homeless in Ogun State

The Everlasting Fountain Welfare Initiative (EFWI) has announced plans to construct a 500-capacity shelter for homeless families and individuals in Ogun State, marking a milestone on its second anniversary celebration on Saturday.

The announcement was made during an event at Pearl School Hall, Magboro, in Obafemi Owode Local Government Area.

EFWI founder, Abiola Adeniyi, revealed that the shelter would be funded with the support of partners and well-meaning Nigerians. She said, “We are proposing a 500-capacity homeless shelter in Ogun State. Today’s fundraising dinner is an opportunity to engage our partners, raise funds, and advance this project. The facility will benefit indigent individuals and those living on the streets. We have secured three acres in Obafemi Owode LGA for construction, which is expected to commence by December, God willing.”

Adeniyi also called for collaboration from government bodies at all levels to ensure the project’s success.

She added that the anniversary celebrations began on Friday with a sports event, including a table tennis tournament, where five winners received cash prizes ranging from N30,000 to N100,000.

Prince Victor Adeniyi, her husband and the foundation’s patron, reflected on the organization’s journey and community impact. He said, “Our mission began small out of concern for the needy. Many people struggle not only with today’s needs but also with uncertainty about the future. Our programs, like Youth Against Idleness, aim to provide support, hope, and reintegration for those in need. With the support of our sponsors and directors, we have been able to assist homeless people, fund education, and provide accommodation.”

EFWI director Ademola Oni highlighted the significance of selfless giving, explaining that the most rewarding form of charity is the one given without expectation of repayment.

The anniversary program included prayers, musical performances, cake cutting, and testimonials from beneficiaries of the foundation’s outreach initiatives. Over the years, EFWI has continued to organize programs supporting the needy, elderly, and youth, particularly in Magboro and surrounding communities.
