The African Action Congress (AAC) has accused the federal government of allowing widespread human rights abuses under its watch, particularly by security agencies. The party raised concerns over a controversial police facility in Imo State, commonly known as Tiger Base, alleging it has been linked to unlawful arrests, torture, disappearances, and extrajudicial killings.

The AAC described the continued operation of the facility as a stain on the country’s democracy and insisted it should be shut down immediately. The party also condemned the recent killing of peaceful female demonstrators in Adamawa State by military personnel, calling for a transparent investigation into the incident.

According to the AAC, these incidents highlight deeper governance failures, including rising insecurity, economic hardship, and declining public trust. The party argued that the current administration has not done enough to protect the rights and safety of citizens.

The AAC reaffirmed its commitment to justice and urged Nigerians to continue demanding accountability and better leadership from those in power.
