A Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Dr Monday O Ubani, has declared that Abia State experienced a historic turnaround in 2023 with the election of Dr Alex Chioma Otti as governor, describing the moment as a rebirth for the state. According to him, the choice of Otti by the people marked a decisive break from years of stagnation and misgovernance, restoring hope and confidence in public leadership.
Ubani said that within a short time in office, Governor Otti has distinguished himself through competence, transparency, integrity, and compassion. He noted that the governor’s leadership style has redefined governance in Abia, earning him widespread admiration across different segments of the population.
He listed key areas where the administration has recorded visible progress, including urban renewal, road construction, aviation development, energy, healthcare, education, waste management, security, and workers’ welfare. Ubani also praised the governor for promptly paying salaries and boldly taking over and completing long-abandoned federal projects, describing these actions as proof of purposeful leadership.
The legal luminary stressed that Abians are no longer guided by party sentiments but by performance. He said the people are united by their desire for continuity, insisting that the governor’s achievements have earned him the loyalty and goodwill of the majority. According to him, any political platform chosen by Otti in 2027 would enjoy massive public support.
Ubani concluded that those plotting against the governor’s re-election represent a small minority, adding that the will of the people would ultimately prevail. He expressed strong confidence that the current administration would be returned for a second term, maintaining that Abia has found its path and will not go back to the old ways.
