A sensitisation event for the All Progressives Congress’s online membership registration in Tsaragi, Edu Local Government Area of Kwara State turned contentious after party stakeholders discovered that names and signatures of deceased individuals were included on a list of ward executives.

During the programme, one participant revealed that his late father—who had served as Vice Chairman of Tsaragi Ward III and passed away over a year ago—was listed among current executives with a purported signature attached. Another attendee pointed out that the late Ward Public Relations Officer, killed during a previous attack, was also on the document.

The revelations sparked demands for clarification and criticism from party members, who described the incident as a misleading attempt to manipulate internal party matters.

Senior APC officials at the event rejected the authenticity of the disputed list, stating that many ward executives had neither seen nor endorsed the document and emphasised that the gathering’s primary aim was to educate members about the registration process.

Officials also affirmed their commitment to disciplinary action against any member found guilty of misconduct related to the incident.
