The Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to Abia State Governor Alex C Otti Mr Ferdinand Ekeoma has firmly dismissed speculations suggesting that the governor may be planning to dump the Labour Party describing such reports as false misleading and politically driven. He stressed that Governor Otti remains fully committed to the party whose principles of accountability transparency and people oriented governance he said align perfectly with the ongoing reforms in Abia State. According to Ekeoma the governor has no reason to seek another political platform as his current mandate and development vision are being effectively pursued under the Labour Party.
Ekeoma made this known during an interactive engagement with members of the Abia State Association of Radio and Television Executives in Umuahia where he addressed several political issues making the rounds in the public space. He explained that most of the internal disputes that once threatened the stability of the party have now been largely resolved noting that the crisis was mainly fueled by leadership disagreements. He pointed out that the Supreme Court of Nigeria had clarified that the tenure of the embattled national chairman Julius Abure had elapsed a development he said has helped restore order and direction within the party.
Reacting to allegations that the Otti led administration has been intimidating opposition figures Ekeoma dismissed such claims as baseless and politically motivated. He insisted that the government operates strictly within the ambit of the law and remains committed to democratic ideals freedom of expression and the rule of law. He assured the people of Abia State that no individual or group is being targeted for political reasons adding that the administration welcomes constructive criticism and remains focused on delivering good governance to the people.
