Defence Minister Matawalle to Host Mass Wedding for Nine Children in Abuja

Bello Matawalle, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Defence, is set to celebrate a unique family milestone by holding a joint wedding ceremony for nine of his children. The event is scheduled for February 6, 2026, in Abuja.

According to a general invitation released by Dan Jafaru Aleengoo Turakee, the wedding Fatiha will take place at the Central Mosque in the nation’s capital. Preparations are reportedly underway to accommodate a large gathering of dignitaries, family, and well-wishers, making it one of the most anticipated social events of the year.

Among the unions to be solemnized is the marriage of Nana Bello Matawalle to Nasiru Mu’azu Magarya, the former Speaker of the Zamfara State House of Assembly. Other confirmed pairings include Farida Bello Matawalle and Ibrahim Sahabi Liman, as well as Aisha Bello Matawalle and Umar Ibrahim Danmaliki.

The announcement has attracted widespread attention across Nigeria, with citizens expressing a mix of admiration and curiosity over the large-scale ceremony.
