Former Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly, Chinedum Orji, has been appointed the Abia State Patron of the City Boy Movement, a political support structure aligned with Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
The appointment was announced by leaders of the City Boy Movement, who described Orji as a seasoned legislator and bridge builder with deep roots in Abia politics and governance. They noted that his leadership experience and engineering background would strengthen the movement’s organisational depth in the state.
Rt Hon Engr Orji served as Speaker of the Abia State House of Assembly for two consecutive terms, during which he played a key role in legislative stability, institutional reforms, and constituency focused representation. His tenure was marked by collaboration with the executive arm and emphasis on infrastructure driven development.
Reacting to the appointment, Orji expressed gratitude for the confidence reposed in him, pledging to mobilise grassroots support and promote the ideals of good governance associated with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope agenda. He said the City Boy Movement remains a platform for political inclusion, youth engagement, and policy advocacy.
