Shettima Commissions Tudun Biri Resettlement Scheme Two Years After Drone Strike

Vice President Kashim Shettima has commissioned the Tudun Biri Resettlement Scheme in Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State, nearly two years after the community was devastated by an accidental military drone strike.

The resettlement project comprises 133 completed housing units, educational facilities and other modern infrastructure designed to help displaced residents rebuild their lives and return to normalcy.

Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Shettima said the project represents the fulfilment of a pledge made by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to restore the community and provide support for victims of the tragic incident.

The Vice President recalled his visit to Tudun Biri in December 2023, during which he conveyed the President’s directive for urgent action to resettle those affected.

He noted that reconstruction officially commenced in July 2024 with the groundbreaking of the Resettlement Scheme for Persons Impacted by Conflict (RSPIC).

Describing the development as “another promise kept,” Shettima reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to justice, compassion and the rebuilding of communities impacted by conflict and security operations.

The commissioning marks a significant milestone in the government’s efforts to provide relief and lasting solutions for victims of the Tudun Biri tragedy.
