A woman in Abia State has appealed to state authorities and senior police officials to urgently intervene after her son reportedly went missing following his arrest by officers in Umuahia.

The mother said her son was taken from their residence during a late-night police operation and transported to a nearby station. Since that day, she claims the family has not seen or heard from him, despite repeated visits to multiple police facilities in the area.

According to the family, officers have provided inconsistent responses about his status and whereabouts. Their search efforts across different divisions have produced no clear answers, increasing their fears and frustration.

Legal representatives assisting the family said a court order was issued directing the police to present the young man, but the directive has yet to be carried out. They say formal complaints have also been submitted to oversight authorities.

The woman is now calling on the state government and police leadership to investigate the matter and ensure her son is located and accounted for.
