Dr. Adanna Steinacker, Senior Special Assistant on Women’s Health to President Bola Tinubu, has urged a united approach to tackling the persistent challenges in maternal and women’s healthcare across Nigeria. She stressed that no single organization or government agency can solve the issues alone, highlighting the need for partnerships across public, private, and non-governmental sectors.

Dr. Steinacker pointed out that maternal mortality rates remain unacceptably high in many parts of the country, and addressing this requires innovative programmes, better resource allocation, and active community engagement. She emphasised that collaboration can improve access to quality care, strengthen health infrastructure, and ensure women receive timely medical attention.

According to her, bringing together stakeholders from different fields will not only enhance healthcare delivery but also create sustainable solutions that benefit women and girls nationwide. She encouraged experts, policymakers, and civil society groups to contribute ideas and resources toward this shared goal.

The presidential aide described these initiatives as central to the administration’s broader commitment to prioritising women’s health and ensuring that maternal care becomes a national success story rather than a persistent challenge.
