TCN Schedules Temporary Blackout in Minna for Equipment Upgrade

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that parts of Minna in Niger State will experience a temporary power outage as engineers carry out essential maintenance on a key transformer. The upgrade is aimed at enhancing the reliability of electricity supply in the area.

According to the notice, the work involves the 30MVA transformer at the 132/33kV Minna Transmission Substation. Engineers began the exercise at 9:30 a.m., and it is expected to continue until approximately 4:00 p.m. Residents and businesses in Tunga, Bosso Low-Cost, Chanchaga, and other nearby areas were advised to prepare for the brief interruption.

TCN assured the public that power supply would be restored promptly once the maintenance is completed. The company emphasized that such upgrades are necessary to prevent future disruptions and improve the overall stability of the electricity network.

While acknowledging the inconvenience caused, TCN urged electricity consumers to take precautions during the outage. The company thanked the public for their patience and cooperation as the upgrade work proceeds.
