Former presidential candidate Peter Obi has urged Nigerians to see the concurrent observance of the Christian Lenten season and the Muslim holy month of Ramadan as an opportunity to rise above religious differences and promote peace across the nation.

Obi emphasized that both periods encourage self-discipline, prayer, and reflection. He noted that this shared focus on spiritual growth could also inspire citizens to strengthen social cohesion and mutual respect among diverse communities.

The politician encouraged Nigerians to use this season not only for personal renewal but also to be mindful of others’ struggles and to act with compassion and understanding toward neighbors of all faiths.

He concluded by calling on everyone to embrace the principles of love, forgiveness, and cooperation embodied in these religious observances, highlighting that such unity can contribute to a stronger, more harmonious society.
