Abia State governorship aspirant, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu, has emphasized that the long term prosperity of the state depends largely on deliberate and sustained investment in human capital, describing the people as the greatest asset of any progressive society. He stated that no meaningful development can be achieved without prioritizing education, skills acquisition, youth empowerment and workforce development.
Speaking during a recent engagement with stakeholders and supporters, Chief Kalu noted that strategic investment in people remains the most reliable pathway to economic growth, social stability and sustainable governance. He stressed that a productive population driven by knowledge, innovation and skills would position Abia as a competitive state in Nigeria’s economic landscape.
He further explained that empowering youths through education, vocational training and enterprise support would not only reduce unemployment but also stimulate local industries and attract investors. According to him, when government deliberately builds human capacity, productivity increases, businesses thrive and communities experience real transformation.
The aspirant added that healthcare, technology development and entrepreneurship support must be integrated into a people centered development agenda to ensure inclusive growth across the state. He reaffirmed his belief that investing in people goes beyond policy statements and must reflect in practical programmes that uplift families and communities.
He concluded by assuring that a leadership focused on human capital development would secure the future of Abia State, noting that when citizens are empowered, the state naturally records progress in infrastructure, commerce and governance. Chief Kalu reiterated that building people today is the surest way to secure a prosperous and sustainable future for Abia State.
