A federal government panel has determined that former Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology Uche Nnaji never graduated from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN), and that the certificate he submitted during his appointment was forged.
The seven‑member review team scrutinized UNN records, including graduation lists and transcripts. They found no proof that Nnaji completed his degree or appeared on the official graduation roster for the claimed year.
The investigation began after Nnaji filed a petition alleging university misconduct. However, the panel’s findings contradicted his claims, raising further concerns about the authenticity of his credentials. Both UNN and the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) had previously denied issuing his certificates. The revelations now spark debate on whether Nnaji should face criminal charges.
