The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has disbursed more than ₦1.57 billion to accredited Computer‑Based Test (CBT) centres across Nigeria for handling the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) registration process.

The payment covers the ₦700 service charge that candidates pay for registration at these centres. Instead of candidates paying directly, JAMB collects the fee centrally along with ePIN charges and remits it weekly to the centres, aiming to eliminate extra or unauthorized charges and ensure a transparent, cashless registration process.

The board has also implemented a “No View, No Pay” policy, meaning centres are paid only after registered candidates are verified in JAMB’s system. This measure strengthens accountability and reduces irregularities during registration.

Registration for the 2026 UTME closed on February 28, with the main exam scheduled for April 16 to April 25, 2026.
