A former Minister of State for Mines and Steel Development, Uche Ogah, has congratulated mothers across Nigeria as Christians celebrate Mothering Sunday.
In his goodwill message, Dr Ogah praised mothers for their unwavering love, sacrifices, and vital role in nurturing families and building a strong society. He described mothers as pillars of the home whose dedication, prayers, and guidance continue to shape the future of communities and the nation.
Ogah noted that Mothering Sunday provides an opportunity for families and society to appreciate the countless contributions of mothers in raising responsible children and promoting moral values.
He commended mothers for their resilience and commitment despite the many challenges they face, adding that their efforts remain central to national growth and stability.
The former minister also called on families to honour and celebrate mothers not only on Mothering Sunday but throughout the year by showing them love, care, and respect.
Dr Ogah further encouraged mothers to continue playing their important role in promoting peace, unity, and positive values in society, assuring them that their sacrifices do not go unnoticed.
Mothering Sunday is traditionally observed by Christians to celebrate mothers and acknowledge their invaluable contributions to family life and the upbringing of children.
