“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit.” – John 15:5
Imagine a branch cut off from a tree. At first it still looks alive, but after a while it dries out because it’s no longer connected to the source of life. The same thing happens in our lives when we drift away from God. We might still be busy, talented, or even successful, but without that connection, our strength slowly fades.
Jesus used the picture of a vine and branches to teach something simple but powerful: real growth comes from staying connected to Him.
Staying connected doesn’t have to be complicated. It happens through small daily choices:
📖 Spending time with God’s word, Talking to Him in prayer, Showing kindness and love to others, Filling your mind with things that strengthen your faith
When we stay connected to the vine, our lives start producing good fruit, things like patience, wisdom, kindness, and courage.
And here’s the encouraging part: you don’t have to be perfect to stay connected. Branches aren’t strong by themselves. Their strength comes from the vine.
So today, take a moment to reconnect. Even a simple prayer like “God, help me stay close to you today” is a powerful start.
Reflection for Today
What is one small thing you can do today to stay connected to God?
Prayer
“Lord, help me remain connected to you like a branch to the vine. Let my life produce good fruit that blesses others. Amen.”
Stay rooted. Stay growing. See you next Sunday.
