Nigeria’s Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, has publicly apologized to citizens over the  struggles with unstable electricity across the country. The apology comes amid growing frustration from households, businesses, and industries affected by frequent and prolonged outages.

Addressing reporters, Adelabu acknowledged the hardship many Nigerians are facing due to the unreliable power situation, especially as temperatures rise and demand for electricity increases. He said the government is actively working to resolve underlying issues and restore a more steady supply.

The minister highlighted that some of the challenges stem from factors outside immediate government control, such as constraints in gas supply to power plants and infrastructure limitations that continue to hamper consistent generation and distribution.

To reassure the public, Adelabu pledged that improvements could begin within the next two weeks as plans to boost generation and tackle key bottlenecks are implemented. He urged patience from Nigerians while the ministry intensifies efforts to bring about more reliable electricity service.
