The Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, in collaboration with the World Health Organisation (WHO), has unveiled a new strategy to improve the delivery and coordination of health information across Nigeria. The initiative was launched during a four-day workshop involving government health officials, development partners, and media organisations, aimed at creating a unified framework for health communication.

The strategy is designed to eliminate fragmented messaging and ensure consistent, reliable health information reaches communities nationwide. It also seeks to enhance coordination among partners in health promotion and service delivery, optimising resource use and strengthening public trust in health guidance.

Workshop participants developed strategic goals, action plans, recommended governance structures, and financing models to guide the framework over the coming years. Officials highlighted that clear and coordinated communication is critical for improving public health outcomes and increasing the effectiveness of national health programmes.

Representatives from the government and WHO described the collaboration as a major step toward more cohesive health promotion efforts across the country.
