Veteran Nollywood actor and broadcaster, Patrick Doyle, has announced the passing of his newborn daughter, just hours after sharing news of her birth.

The actor revealed the development in a Facebook post, stating that the child, Omayinuwa Mayen Harriet Doyle, was born on Friday, April 10, but passed away the following day, Saturday, April 11.

In his message, Doyle reflected on the brief time the baby spent with the family, describing it as a moment that brought joy despite its short duration. He also expressed faith in God, noting that his belief remains unshaken.

The announcement came shortly after an earlier post in which Doyle had joyfully welcomed the child, expressing gratitude and happiness over her arrival and confirming that both mother and baby were in good condition at the time.

Following the sad news, fans, colleagues, and well-wishers have flooded his page with messages of condolence, many of whom had initially celebrated the birth with him.

The loss comes amid a new chapter in Doyle’s personal life. He remarried in early 2023 after his previous marriage to Nollywood actress Ireti Doyle ended.

Ireti Doyle had confirmed their divorce in 2023 during an interview, noting that she had kept the matter private for some time as it concerned her family.

Patrick Doyle’s latest announcement has drawn widespread sympathy as many continue to offer support during this difficult period.
