Abia 2027 Governorship Election Aspirant, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu has called for deliberate and urgent investment in the youths of Abia State, describing them as the driving force behind any meaningful transformation the state seeks to achieve.
Speaking to newsmen as part of his “Fix Abia” message series, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu expressed concern over the growing frustration among young people, noting that many are eager to contribute but are limited by lack of opportunities.
He stated that the future of Abia cannot be secured if its youths remain unemployed, underutilized and disconnected from governance, stressing that empowering them must go beyond promises to practical action.
According to him, from Aba to Ohafia and Umuahia to Ukwa, young people are showing resilience, creativity and determination, yet they need support systems that will help them thrive and compete.
Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu maintained that Abia youths should not be treated as spectators in the affairs of the state but as active participants whose ideas and energy are critical to rebuilding the economy.
He added that years of neglect have created a gap between leadership and the younger generation, warning that ignoring this reality could have long term consequences for the state.
The Abia 2027 Governorship Election Aspirant further emphasized that empowering youths is not just a social responsibility but a strategic necessity, noting that when young people are given the right tools, they become catalysts for growth and innovation.
He therefore urged stakeholders and citizens to support a new direction that prioritizes youth development, assuring that fixing Abia must begin with unlocking the full potential of its young population.
