Abia 2027 Governorship Election Aspirant, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu has called for increased support, protection and empowerment of women across Abia State, describing them as the backbone of families and the silent drivers of the state’s economy.

Speaking to newsmen as part of his “Fix Abia” message, Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu noted that despite their immense contributions, many women in the state continue to face economic hardship, limited opportunities and inadequate support systems.

He stressed that from Aba markets to rural communities in Ohafia, Umuahia and Ukwa, women remain at the center of commerce, family stability and community development, yet their efforts are often undervalued.

According to him, any serious plan to fix Abia must prioritize women by creating access to finance, improving healthcare, ensuring safety and opening up more economic opportunities for them to thrive.

Chief Mascot Uzor Kalu maintained that empowering women is not just a social responsibility but a strategic move that will directly impact the growth and stability of the state.

He added that many homes are sustained by the strength and resilience of women, warning that neglecting their welfare is equivalent to weakening the foundation of society.

The Abia 2027 Governorship Election Aspirant further emphasized that women must be given a stronger voice in decision making processes, noting that inclusive governance is key to achieving balanced and sustainable development.

He therefore urged stakeholders and citizens to support policies and initiatives that uplift women, assuring that fixing Abia requires recognizing, supporting and investing in the strength of its women.
