Akwa Ibom State Governor, Umo Eno, on Friday welcomed the Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd), to the Government House in Uyo.
The visit served as an opportunity for both state and federal authorities to engage in discussions on strengthening security frameworks and advancing development efforts in the state.
Speaking during the meeting, General Musa praised the Akwa Ibom State Government for maintaining peace and investing in infrastructure. He highlighted the impact of Governor Eno’s ARISE Agenda, describing it as a major factor behind the stability recorded across the state’s 31 local government areas.
In his response, Governor Eno attributed the state’s peaceful environment to his administration’s focus on citizens’ welfare and strong collaboration with federal security agencies. He stressed that continuous partnership with security bodies remains key to sustaining peace.
The governor also reiterated his commitment to supporting all security agencies operating within the state, both logistically and institutionally. He expressed appreciation for General Musa’s service to the nation, noting that ensuring safety in Akwa Ibom is vital to the overall development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
