Filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has refuted claims that she ignored Fuji icon Wasiu Pasuma at a recent public event, describing the allegation as misleading.
The controversy began after an X user, @UOladiti, shared a clip suggesting that Akindele deliberately snubbed Pasuma during a birthday celebration for actress Fathia Balogun. The short video showed Akindele greeting Balogun while Pasuma sat nearby, appearing disengaged.
Responding on Sunday via X, Akindele dismissed the claim, stating that the clip did not capture the full sequence of events. She maintained that she greeted and even danced with the Fuji star at the gathering.
“Snub? Hell no. Stop the negativity pls. I saw him, greeted him, danced with him. Pasuma is my egbon. Pls you all should stop this evil,” she wrote.
A longer version of the video later surfaced online, showing Akindele exchanging pleasantries with Pasuma before moving on to greet other guests. Supporters of the actress also shared the extended footage, arguing that the initial clip had been edited to create a false narrative.
The event, held in honour of Balogun, was attended by several guests, including TikTok personality Ashabi Olose.
Akindele’s response comes weeks after another viral moment at the premiere of The Return of Arinzo sparked online discussions about her interaction with actress Toyin Abraham. However, she insists the latest allegation involving Pasuma is unfounded and has urged social media users to avoid spreading negativity.
