An Anambra State High Court in Awka has sentenced a man to death after finding him guilty of killing his father during a heated family dispute.

According to the court’s findings, what began as a disagreement between the two escalated into violence, which ultimately led to the father’s death. The judge held that the prosecution provided sufficient evidence to clearly link the accused to the incident.

In the ruling, the court stated that the offence was proven beyond reasonable doubt, leaving no basis to overturn the charges brought against the defendant.

The judgment brings closure to a case that has been in court for years, with the court applying the strictest penalty available under the law.
